Introduction
Description
From the icy or slushy forecourt, if there is sufficient snow, we ascend the track back to the valley in the direction of Trincerone 3028m. In the event of a lack of snow, we ascend the service piste, which passes to our right. From the Trincerone (an agglomeration of hotels, huts and restaurants), continue along the Vedretta Piana ski lift in a slow ascent towards Punta degli Spiriti. At the height of the latter, we carefully cross the steepest slope in the entire area (often occupied by athletes in training) and head to Passo di Sasso Rotondo 3335m. On the last part of the ascent, it is worth taking a good look at our wall to then decide on the descent route. From the pass, either on foot or with skins, we ascend the undulating ridge with overhanging ridges to the south to the high point 3434m. The descent (however, difficulty OSA) always leads, at various heights, to converge on the Vedretta dei Vitelli slope, which one must briefly ascend again until reaching the Vedretta Piana. The return to the car is on excessively tame, but fast and scenic slopes over the Ortles Group.
