Introduction
A wild and little-known itinerary through evocative and enchanting places to be enjoyed possibly in the late afternoon. The Bosco di Arlaz represents an extraordinary opportunity to immerse oneself in the beauty and tranquillity of the mountains, discovering the rich flora and fauna of the Aosta Valley along the way.
Description
0h00' Leaving the last houses of the built-up area, the road becomes a dirt track and after a few hundred metres we can notice on our left a clearing with a depression: this is the so-called ghost lake, which has been 'mysteriously' empty for several years now .... The road continues slightly downhill until it ends in a small clearing: from here, a path on our left enters the beautiful forest. The scenery that accompanies the excursion is extremely captivating, on the one hand the rocky walls of Monte Ros (1416m), which in the late afternoon flare up, allowing us to enjoy evocative views, and on the other, beautiful panoramic views of the middle valley and the Mont Avic Regional Park from time to time. But above all, the forest is exceptional, defined by the locals as the fairy forest because of the magic it emanates throughout the walk. After walking for about 30 minutes, you come to a fork marked by a wooden cross: on one side you take path number 4, which leads slightly downhill to the Col d'Arlaz (1031 m.) on the border with the municipality of Challand Saint-Victor; on the other side you continue on path number 3, which continues along the rock face. Having passed the immense rock face at the foot of Monte Ros, one ascends a short distance until reaching the sight of a rocky outcrop with a very unusual shape. The last part of the itinerary is downhill until the junction with the path leading from the Colle d'Arlaz to Orbeillaz.
