Passo del Dente, from Passo Romaggi
Access
From the Fontanabuona Valley (Lavagna motorway exit on the Genoa-Livorno motorway and direction: Carasco and San Colombano Certenoli), climb up from Calvari and pass through Romaggi. Continue to the Romaggi Pass (703 m), where you leave your car along the roadside.
Description
Here, we meet the '7 Passi' path, which starts in Carasco and ends in Lorsica (17 km that we cover after crossing no less than seven passes). You ascend with the FIE symbols, two red dots, in a forest of turkey oaks, then the space opens up and you can see the entire beautiful amphitheatre of Mount Ramaceto. After the Passo del Dente (923 m), one can continue, briefly, to see the approach of the path (empty red square) to the summit of Ramaceto (1345 m), which is, however, more than an hour away and slightly more difficult. Some interesting geological aspects of the area can also be seen. Then, we turned back, climbing the scenic Mount Mignano (974 m - no signposts) and, finally, we descended to our left, still off the trail and along tracks, to the 'casone dello Stecca', where, in October 1943, the first nucleus of partisans in the area was formed. Finally, by road, we returned to retrieve the car...
We would like to point out the delicious homemade ravioli we tasted at the Pellegrin tavern - Romaggi - 0185 358066 - at the end of the trip!
