Introduction

A little strenuous route, which if walked in early spring, besides the beautiful views of the Oropa valley plain and mountains, is characterised by the intense flowering of crocuses and gentians.

Description

Parking the car at the small Oneglie car park, take the dirt road that branches off to the right. Follow the road all the way to a first fork, ignore the road that branches off to the right and follow it to a second fork. Here, take the road that climbs and you will soon reach the San Martino farmstead, where, a few metres before the building, you take a grassy path that leads you in the opposite direction, until a small meadow with the GTB signpost invites you to start climbing up the slope. You head straight for a small group of rocks outcropping from the meadow, when you come to this rocky outcrop you find a little meadow marker and the track of the path again, follow the track until you come out on the Tracciolino, here turn left and skirting all the southern and western slopes of Monte Cucco you arrive at the sanctuary of Oropa.
