Description

The Lliée ( or Lière) point is a modest elevation and is located on the ridge that rises southwards from Col d'Arpeyssaou towards the scree that is lost on the vast northern slopes of Becca Conge, while to the north, beyond the pass, the ridge reaches the rocky Becca Morion. For this excursion, there is no difficulty as far as Col d'Arpeyssaou, which is on an evident path, while beyond it one continues on passing tracks and in any case on a comfortable grassy ridge that is never exposed; the point offers beautiful views of the Verdona valley that rises from Oyace and of the more distant Noeud de la Rayette and Monte Cervo, and overall of the Valpelline peaks. Description From the posts, a fine path leads up into the coniferous forest and, with a moderate incline, arrives near a large rock to deviate to the left and arrive in more open spaces where the Verzignoletta huts (1391 m) are located. Passing to the right, you reach the farm track that you follow, still on the right, until you reach a nearby hairpin bend where the Chez Charvin huts are located (1421 m) and where you leave a path marked by poles on the right to continue for a few more minutes on the same farm track until it ends and is reduced to a path (1457 m). Once back in the dense wood, go up diagonally to the left and then climb more directly to the Cortelette hut (1612 m) and from here, with steeper slopes, you arrive in a wide valley where the wood thins out and leaves room for pastures; Walk along it slightly uphill for its entire length, passing close to the Gran Verzignola pastureland, until almost reaching the head of the valley, where there is a crossroads marked by a post (2097 m), at which you turn left to begin the ascent of another valley. After a few hairpin bends, you come to the Arpeyssaou hut (2169 m), which you pass, continuing the ascent to the left of the valley and, arriving towards the bottom of it, you climb back up a slightly steeper grassy slope, arriving above a small promontory where the panoramic La Lliée bivouac (2432 m) is located, which can only be seen at the last moment and just behind which is the alpine pasture of the same name. From here, continue on above the alpine pasture, taking the path that climbs obliquely from left to right, arriving shortly at the Arpeyssaou pass (2,500 m), at which point you turn right; walking on the grassy ridge, you go up and down to a hump and then climb briefly to reach the small peak.
