.Introduction
Monte Misone is a modest grassy peak between Passo Ballino and Val di San Pietro. The itinerary winds its way in the initial part through coniferous and beech forests and ends in the meadows of the Malga di Tenno.
Description
From the Ballino Pass car park, take the dirt forest road signposted [432] for Malga Fiavé, Malga di Tenno and Monte Misone. Beyond the barrier, climb for a long time in the coniferous wood for about 0h50' until you reach the point where the road, on the right, narrows a little and becomes very steep. Still in the wood, climb up to the Calcherola saddle (1585m, 2h00') and take the signpost [433] to the right for Malga di Tenno, Monte Misone and Rifugio M. Calino - San Pietro. After a few ups and downs in the forest, you come out onto the vast meadowland of Malga di Tenno (1575m, 2h15') with Monte Misone in the background. To the right of the malga, between grassy slopes, some conifers and outcropping limestone rocks, you reach the cross on Monte Misone (1803m, 2h50').
The return itinerary is the same as the outward journey up to the Calcherola saddle (1585m, 0h45'). Now go straight on towards the Malga di Fiavè (1612m, 0h55') and descend along a wide dirt road to the junction with a poorly maintained path indicating Passa Ballino. Enter the wood on the left, pass alongside a rock wall and, amidst nettles and various vegetation, return to the forest road taken on the outward journey and to Passo Ballino (764m, 2h55').
