From Passo Presena to Malga Bedole

Access

Coming back: leave the car in Dimaro and take the 8.27 a.m. bus to Tonale; after changing means of transport (connection) in Fucine you arrive at the pass at 9.22 a.m. Return: from Malga Bedolealle, 16.30, the only bus of the day takes you back to Campiglio (you must book and pay for it at least the day before at an information point). In a little over an hour, you are in the village where, with the 18.00 bus (there is no holiday bus!!!! you could use the bike bus at about 18.35), you return to Dimaro. (NB: summer 2017 timetable).

Introduction

Not a trivial crossing due to the use of public transport (NB: summer 2017 timetable). Many people descend from the pass to the Mandron refuge and then climb back up, but the idea of having to climb 500 and more metres of steep slope after lunch... is not the best... so an alternative solution was sought (and found)...

Description

The lift climbs above the new ones up to 3,000 m. At the top, there is a refreshment stop and you descend on a very well-groomed path.... The Lago Scuro rises up, with the Mandrone and Lobbie lookouts in front. You descend for a long time until you see the little church, near the refuge. But it still takes a little way.... At last, the roof of the Mandron refuge 2449 m can be seen. After the break, we set off again for the upper part of the Val di Genova. We touch the little church seen earlier from above, the Payer Study Centre and pass the war cemetery. The path becomes technical, but is well groomed. It takes more than 90 hairpin bends until we reach Rif. Bedole (another short stop) and a little further on there is a bus stop.
In summary: all in all a fairly good day, almost no gradient -1,500 m Dif. E for about 4h15 Tot. + all the breaks to see the various places that we encounter, all very beautiful
