Introduction

Beautiful excursion in an environment dominated by mountain pine and marmots. Ideal for discovering the fascinating world of the Sarneri. Don't miss a visit to the Durnholz parish church with frescoes from the 1400s.

Description

From the lake we follow the asphalted shore of the lake going straight on as indicated on a hiking signpost that points to our destination at the end of the 16 signpost. At a marked curve to the right after a few hundred metres, we leave the asphalted road to enter the forest comfortably thanks to a nice carriage road that goes up the stream to the Seebalm hut. It is advisable, however, to take the last stretch on the well-marked path, which branches off to the left of the carriage road and rises among majestic fir trees. From Seebalm, continue along the path, which now climbs more steeply for a stretch. You thus gain height until you come out into a beautiful mountain pine forest, where you meet the turnoff for the Hohe Scheibe, already visible from below due to the characteristic building on its summit. We ignore the turnoff and continue halfway up the hillside, leaving the forest completely behind us. We begin to see the destination of our hike. A semicircular path takes us right below the pass. From here, with a final, rather steep section, we finally reach the pass, to the left of which is the hut and the characteristic small lake. The return is made along the ascent route. A
