Access

For those taking public transport, there is the SITA bus company that runs all along the Amalfi coast: just take the line to Amalfi and, if you are arriving from Naples or Salerno, change for Sorrento once you arrive at the terminus.

If, on the other hand, you are departing from the latter town, take only the means of transport in the direction of Amalfi: in both cases, you will have to get off at the stop located right on the bridge, or continue on the Agerola-Amalfi line to get to the upper part of the 'paese che non c'è', before the hidden houses.

For those wondering how to get here by car: you should know that, unfortunately, there are no free places to park along the road, so you will be better off heading to the Locanda del Fiordo's guarded car park, perhaps stopping to sample their exquisite first courses.

Introduction

The Fiordo di Furore is an extraordinary natural place located on the Amalfi Coast, famous for its wild beauty and visited by famous people from Italian cinema. It consists of a beach, a fishing village and a bridge that connects two cliffs. It is also possible to take part in adrenalin-pumping activities such as diving and speedboat races. The Fiordo di Furore is a UNESCO protected site, perfect for those seeking a relaxing day out or an adventurous experience. The beauty of the Mediterranean is manifested in Furore, a coastal village located in the province of Salerno, with its spectacular Fiordo, a deep gorge created by a torrent that has eroded the rocks over the centuries, and the Spiaggia, a beautiful beach below the town.

This unique landscape is an example of the three main belts of Mediterranean vegetation: the Mediterranean, Samnite and Atlantic belts.

Description

0h00' From the roadside, take the steps down the orographic right-hand side of the fjord. The descent is quick and without any particular difficulty 700 steps

Like other natural attractions on the coast such as the Emerald Grotto or the Conca dei Marini, the Fjord of Furore can also be easily reached by boat from one of the main ports of call such as Positano.

There are several companies that offer customised tours of the area, but if you prefer, you can also hire a boat and explore these places on your own.
