Introduction

Itinerary of historical interest.

Description

From the little church of Calvisio, take the marked path (FIE: red diamond), arriving immediately at the houses of Lacremà. At the next crossroads, ignore the track to the left, (the path from which you will return), to take the path to the right that heads towards Ciappo dei Ceci (FIE: red diamond). The path goes round the Bric Reseghe, making a wide semicircle and then entering the Vacchè valley, which is climbed inside the forest. When you reach the Casa del Vacchè (330m), take the wide track to the right (FIE: red square) that leads into the holm oak wood and reaches the first destination of the hike: the Ciappo dei Ceci, with its ancient engravings. The trail now leads to the vicinity of Rocca Cornei, on whose flanks the second limestone slab with rock engravings opens out: Ciappo delle Conche (350m). Finally, we reach, passing near the climbing gyms, then with a short descent and then ascending, the 12th-14th century church of San Lorenzino, which stands on a panoramic rock. For the return journey, retrace the outward route until just beyond Casa del Vacchè, when you meet a marked path on the right (FIE: 3 red dots) heading towards Camporotondo. At the next crossroads, near some ruins, follow another marked path (FIE: red hollow square) and in doing so climb up the Bric Riseghe, encountering a well, dug into the rock, with a tree in the middle and an old stone building, until you reach the wide summit (315m). The path now descends from Bric Reseghe, rejoining the track that, on the left, leads back to Lacremà and, from here, to Calvisio..
